By this point in his presidency, FDR had pardoned 1,431 people. Obama’s pardoned 40.

Barack Obama is set to do some turkey pardoning tomorrow, but he hasn’t done much, you know, human pardoning. He has, thus far, issued 40 pardons or sentence commutations. By comparison, Harry Truman had issued 1,537 by this point, and FDR had issued 1,431. Even George W. Bush had issued 99. Obama’s been historically slow here.
