Guess what the most popular magazine in the U.S. is. TIME? Nope, that’s number 11. Sports Illustrated? Swing and a miss – that’s number 14. National Geographic? Getting warmer, but still at number eight. People? Number nine.

No, the most popular magazine is AARP the Magazine. Granted, access to the AARP’s huge membership gives the magazine a huge leg up, but the degree to which it and its sister publication, AARP Bulletin, dominate the magazine market is nonetheless impressive. The biggest non-AARP magazine, Game Informer, is a little more than a third of AARP Bulletin‘s size.
