This map shows which counties support which NFL teams

The map above, which Facebook’s data analysis group created before last year’s Super Bowl, shows where fans of professional football teams live around the country. The Dallas Cowboys, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Green Bay Packers have fans all over the place. (Alaska, for example, appears divided between Green Bay and Pittsburgh, with some Seattle fans living in the southernmost parts of the state.) Other teams’ supporters are more limited in their geographical distribution. The Jets, for example, can claim only one county.

The Facebook group put together plenty of other fascinating data as well, including on relationships among people who root for different teams. Click below to see what they found.
