The staggering rise of mobile computing, charted

You probably know by now that you spend way more on mobile data than cell phone calls each month. This chart from web server company Akamai shows just how much mobile data has blown up while voice has flatlined. The monthly voice and data measurements used cover 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE networks, and come courtesy of Ericsson.

And here’s a bit more on the rise of mobile (read: apps), and why that may not be entirely good for the web as we currently know it.
